{"id":3575,"date":"2020-08-03T11:04:05","date_gmt":"2020-08-03T16:04:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.teresasweetphotography.com\/blog\/?p=3575"},"modified":"2020-08-03T11:05:28","modified_gmt":"2020-08-03T16:05:28","slug":"rescued-me-the-story-of-snowy-prince","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.teresasweetphotography.com\/blog\/rescued-me-the-story-of-snowy-prince\/","title":{"rendered":"Rescued Me ~ The Story of Snowy &#038; Prince"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>I&#8217;m so excited to share this little family with you.\u00a0 I met Prince and Snowy&#8217;s mom, Christine, a few years ago when I used to teach kickboxing classes.\u00a0 My first impression of Christine was that she was such a sweet, quiet woman with a super calm demeanor.\u00a0 I always felt relaxed and at ease when we talked.\u00a0 When they all came down their walkway of their home, I couldn&#8217;t decide who was cuter, Snowy (the dog) or Prince (the cat)!\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Here are questions that I ask the families and the stories of their beloved fur-babies.\u00a0 Learn where they came from, how far they&#8217;ve come and just how amazing these dogs are!\u00a0 Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you&#8230;.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h1><em><strong>Snowy and Prince&#8217;s Rescued Me Journey&#8230;<\/strong><\/em><\/h1>\n<h2><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>ME:\u00a0\u00a0What are the ages and names of your fur-babies?\u00a0 How long have you had him\/her?<br \/>\nCHRISTINE:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Prince will\u00a0be 17 years old in August and we have had him since he was 6 weeks old.\u00a0\u00a0Snowy is 13 years old. We got him at the North Attleboro animal shelter after the pet store had closed. He was 12 weeks old and I was really lucky to get all his papers. Snowy was very mellow when we saw him and just fell in\u00a0love with him. I knew he was the perfect addition to our family with 2 young kids. He adjusted great! It was Smokey that took a couple\u00a0of weeks before they became inseparable.<br \/>\nFor Snowy, I went to the shelter first when the kids where in school and he was only 12 weeks old and the first one to come running up to me and had a very good temperament. He was on the calmer side and friendly and loved to snuggle. When the kids got out of school I bought them back to the shelter to see how he was with them and he was the same way. What was their safe space or what made them feel safe?<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>CHRISTINE:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Snowy adjusted really well and was very\u00a0easy to train. He has a very laid back temperament\u00a0and not a care in the world you can do just\u00a0about anything to him. He was so easy to train.<br \/>\nPrince fit in really easy at the time. I had another cat Smokey who was a month older then Prince, so he followed Smokey and did everything that he did.\u00a0 The two became inseparable until Smokey&#8217;s untimely passing when he was 10 years old. Prince picked up the litter box very quickly and adjusted very easy. He was the first cat to come running up to us so purring and rubbing up against us. He was about 7 weeks old and will be 17 years old this month. We had a husky before so they where used to dogs but when Smokey passed (he was &#8220;the boss&#8221;), there was about 3 months of back and forth who was going to be in charge and some fights until Snowy backed down. Now Prince will be sleeping or laying on the couch and Snowy will walk by and he will swat him then curl back up leaving Snowy confused. He was actually considered an emotional support cat for my daughter\u00a0for many years.\u00a0<\/strong>They both love to sun bath in the sun and both loves belly rubs and Snowy loves his walks and car\u00a0rides.<\/h2>\n<h2><strong>They are both pretty laid back and easy going although Snowy can get very anxious.\u00a0\u00a0Snowy is a sweet easy going mamma boy but gets very anxious with loud unfamiliar noises. He is what I would say too friendly. If I ever got robbed, he would show them where all the good stuff is (that&#8217;s the joke in the family). He has always been that was but his anxiety has gotten worse with age. We put classical music on for him when we leave to help relieve some of that. Prince has always been laid back, but is now demanding more and more of my attention by getting his love me like belly rubs ( yes a cat that love belly rubs), head, neck and butt scratches.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3589\" src=\"https:\/\/www.teresasweetphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/02-3575-post\/OToole-45-web.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"796\" height=\"960\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.teresasweetphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/02-3575-post\/OToole-45-web.jpg 796w, https:\/\/www.teresasweetphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/02-3575-post\/OToole-45-web-249x300.jpg 249w, https:\/\/www.teresasweetphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/02-3575-post\/OToole-45-web-768x926.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.teresasweetphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/02-3575-post\/OToole-45-web-50x60.jpg 50w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 796px) 100vw, 796px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><strong>ME:\u00a0 If you could try to convince someone who was on the fence about rescuing, what would you say to them?\u00a0 How has it changed you and your lives?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>CHRISTINE<\/strong><strong>:\u00a0<\/strong>If I had to convince someone to adopt\u00a0a pet at a shelter rather then a breeder, I would say that usually at a shelter\u00a0they have a better screening and temperament\u00a0where as at a breeder\u00a0you really never know. A lot of times they\u00a0inbreed or have puppy mills. Plus the animals at the pounds are usually so much better with their temperament\u00a0and most likely you are saving a life\u00a0to a wonderful\u00a0pet that will love you unconditionally!<\/h2>\n<h2>Every day there are new things that make me laugh\u00a0and so many things like sitting on the couch like a human for Snowy or when you can have a full conversation with Prince and his answers\u00a0are right on! I really can&#8217;t even pick one. They have definitely\u00a0stole my heart and everyone else who has\u00a0meet them.
